Designed to provide pinpoint access to any part of the body, radiotherapy machines are revolutionary in the fight against cancer. As with any equipment of this kind, mechanical failures will force them out of operation. Failures such as this are not just an operations and productions problem. Patients rely on these machines to work properly in order to receive their scheduled treatments to fight the disease. That’s why we stepped in to provide the medical rotary union they needed, just in time.

A major medical company was having problems with their equipment. So, after careful examination, they noticed the machines had multiple rotary unions that were leaking. Ultimately, this can cause the machines to go out of service. Rotary Systems assessed the situation to design and manufacture two custom rotary unions for them. We created a single passage in-line union and a single passage 90 degree union, to remedy the situation. We managed to design a leak-proof line of rotary unions that could withstand the vigorous parameters that these radiotherapy machines demand. Specifically, these rotary unions utilize stainless steel for the shaft and housing. We also use Teflon-on-ceramic seals and radial ball bearings, throughout.

What We Do

Rotary Systems manufactures and ships thousands of rotary unions each year. We custom build field replacement kits to replace competitor rotary unions, quite often. Today, these improved machines enable clinicians to perform radio-surgery procedures with ease. Now, patients can receive their lifesaving treatments on time.

Rotary Systems is currently working with a number of major medical companies. Today, we have several active projects for both rotary union and electrical slip ring applications.

Solving problems like this is the core of Rotary Systems’ operations. Our engineers have a combined 80 years of experience designing custom rotary unions for any industry.
